Robinson disappeared after she left a birthday party on the First Nation on May 5. Her body was found in a wooded area Monday.

First Nations officials have said it appears she was mauled by an animal, possibly a black bear.

“There are so many rumors going on through the community and social media,” said David Harper, who represents northern First Nations. “The family has a lot of questions themselves.”

Other than confirming Robinson’s death, Kolody said little about the case, simply repeating that he couldn’t offer details about the investigation.

“Our team of investigators is in the community now,” Kolody said. “Everyone wants to know what happened to this little child.”
