A massive ship that housed a restaurant on Toronto’s waterfront will soon be gone.
Captain John’s is set to be towed away to a ship yard in Port Colborne by the end of the month — the end of a long saga for what was once a Toronto landmark.
A federal court judge approved the sale to a ship scrapper after it was seized by the court last year over back taxes and berthing fees that exceeded one-million dollars.
The former fine-dining restaurant was shut down by public health officials almost three years ago and has been sitting at the foot of Yonge Street ever since.
