WINNIPEG – Almost 100 high school students are building walls, windows and door frames for housing charity Habitat for Humanity on Friday.
The students are participating in the High Schools for Habitat event to help the charity that builds safe, affordable housing for purchase by low-income working families.
Teens from schools in the Winnipeg, Louis Riel, River East, Seven Oaks, Pembina Trails, Sunrise and Red River Valley school divisions are participating in the effort. They’ll be working at the Habitat warehouse on Pandora Avenue from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a news release from the charity says.
Habitat for Humanity has built homes for more than 322 Manitoba families.
