Quebec police say wheelchair-bound man gunned down while crossing the street

MONTREAL — Quebec provincial police said a man in a wheelchair was shot to death while crossing a street just north of Montreal.

Sgt. Gino Pare said the victim, who was in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He also said the man’s daughter was with him and witnessed the shooting on Wednesday evening in the town of Terrebonne.

No arrests have been made and police have not yet determined whether there was one shooter or several.

The victim was well-known to authorities and there are reports he was a former Hells Angels enforcer.

Terrebonne is about 30 kilometres northeast of Montreal.
