MONTREAL – It’s a project that first started in Ithaca, New York.
Now, Porchfest has come to NDG.
The festival transforms neighbourhood stoops into musical stages to encourage residents to discover local musicians – many of whom may even live just around the corner.
According to organizers, Porchfest is a self-guided walking tour through different neighbourhoods – in this case, NDG – with mini-concerts along the way.
“It’s the magic of Montreal,” said Marina Carrier, a Porchfest fan who said she’s hopeful it will becomes an annual event in the borough.
“[It’s] this really cool thing is happening. You just pop over and walk around and you happen upon just a little beautiful moment like this.”
