VANCOUVER – RCMP officers in Surrey are investigating reports of shots fired. Crews were called to the area around 94A Avenue and 124 Street early this morning.
A neighbour told Global News they heard a loud bang around 3 a.m. and saw a number of cars outside their home. They had seen two of the vehicles in the area before.
When police arrived the vehicles were gone. Another neighbour said they heard screaming and then the cars speeding away.
Simultaneously, a man arrived at Surrey Memorial Hospital with stab wounds to his upper body. Police say they will be looking into whether the two incidents are related to one another and to the recent Surrey shootings. However, there is no evidence to indicate that they are related to the Surrey shootings at this time.
Investigators are currently canvassing the neighbourhood and looking for additional information regarding the two instances.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
