An air quality advisory for Squamish has been lifted.

“Smoke from the structural fire is negligible and fine particulate concentrations have returned to more expected levels,” said an Environment Canada statement issued today, three days after a fire at the Squamish Terminals that sent noxious smoke through the entire city.

While the fire has been contained since late Thursday night, crews have begun tearing down the heavily damaged docks in order to reach areas still smoldering.

People were told to stay indoors for over 12 hours after the fire began and many residents said they had trouble breathing clearly. However, no one was seriously injured and only two people had to go to hospital with respiratory concerns.
