UPDATE–Orchard Park Mall reopened for business Thursday morning.
UPDATE–The RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit has located a suspicious package. As a precautionary measure, a secondary sweep is being conducted of the entire mall. RCMP are still not saying what the package is or if anyone was ever in danger. More details are expected in the morning.
KELOWNA – The Orchard Park Mall in Kelowna has been evacuated after a suspicious package was left inside a department store.
“The mall is being evacuated and expected to be closed for the remainder of the day,” says RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan. “Police are requesting people to stay away from Orchard Park Mall and the surrounding area.”
The RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit has been dispatched to the mall.
