Morning News anchors make NHL playoff wager

WATCH ABOVE: Global BC Morning News co-hosts Sophie Lui and Steve Darling join Amber Schinkel and Scott Fee live from Vancouver to make a friendly wager on the Flames vs. Canucks playoff series.

CALGARY – As the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks clash in the first round of the 2015 NHL Playoffs, a battle of a different kind is brewing on the Morning News.

Global Calgary co-hosts Amber Schinkel and Scott Fee have made a friendly wager with their counterparts in B.C. over the outcome of the series.

The bet:

  • If the Calgary Flames beat the Vancouver Canucks, Sophie Lui and Steve Darling have to ride a mechanical bull while wearing a Flames jersey.
  • If the Vancouver Canucks beat the Calgary Flames, Amber Schinkel and Scott Fee have to do hot yoga while wearing a Canucks jersey.

The wager between Morning News anchors isn’t the only one that has been made.

Paul Haysom and Brendan Parker from Calgary’s News Hour Final have made a bet with their counterparts at Global BC.

If Vancouver wins, Haysom and Parker have to fly a Canucks flag on their vehicles for a week and wear a Canucks jersey on News Hour Final.

However, if Calgary wins, Anne Drewa and Shanel Pratap have to wear a Flames jersey and cowboy hat while they two-step together.
