VICTORIA–The Kelowna Rockets beat the Victoria Royals 4-2 Tuesday to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in their Western Hockey League playoff series.
The Royals opened the scoring in the first period, but Leon Draisaitl and Nick Merkley put the puck in the back of the net for the Rockets, giving them a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period.
Victoria tied the game early in the second, but it was all Rockets from there with Gage Quinney and Madison Bowey both finding the back of the Royals net.
Jackson Whistle earned the win in goal, swatting away 13 Victoria shots in the third.
The teams meet up again Wednesday night in Victoria.
