One karate student from Johns Creek, Georgia sure knows how to pull on the heartstrings of adults.
Caden Kelly, 6, takes karate lessons at Karate USA which requires all their students to take on three community service projects before they can earn their black belt.
“Caden Kelly had this great idea that he wanted to raise money for a K-9 police dog,” Karate USA President David Bartow told WXIA.
The Johns Creek Police Department informed Kelly that a bulletproof vest for a police dog costs thousands of dollars.
Kelly and his team made the best out of an endearing relationship between him and his K-9 pooch pal, Kyra.
“Lots of people, and my mommy, raised a lot of money,” said Kelly. In the end, they raised a total of $2,400.
The money went towards a custom-fitted bulletproof vest for Kyra, giving her that extra bit of protection in the field.
