North Saanich wins Kraft Hockeyville 2015

The municipality of North Saanich has been selected as the winner of this year’s Kraft Hockeyville competition.

They beat out Chatam-Kent for the victory in the annual contest, where towns across Canada are nominated for arena upgrades and a pre-season NHL game.

The Panorama Recreation Centre Arena B will now receive $100,000 in upgrades, and North Saanich will host a preseason game between the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks in the fall of 2015.

In his nomination of North Saanich, Jason Fletcher said winning would allow the arena to have a dedicated locker room for junior hockey, and meeting, office and storage space for Peninsula Minor Hockey.
