WATCH: 300 people traced the steps Terry Fox ran every day in Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam and Port Moody as he trained for his Marathon of Hope. Jennifer Palma reports.
“It was my 10 miles. You could not find a better 10 miles in the world.”
So said Terry Fox of his training route through Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam and Port Moody, which he ran daily in the run-up to his landmark Marathon of Hope. In total, he ran 3,059 miles in training.

“I definitely remembering him training, getting his runs in. We never really knew what he was doing, we just thought it was for the Vancouver Marathon. That’s what he told us originally,” said his sister Judith Fox-Alder.
Today, 300 people retraced – or rather, rejogged – his steps in the first ever Terry Fox Training Run. It’s part of commemorations for the 35th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope, which includes signs placed along the training route.
