VERNON – A person has been charged in connection with a two vehicle crash that killed one woman and injured another.
It happened at about 1:15 a.m. October 23rd at a 32nd Street intersection in downtown Vernon where the driver of a van allegedly ran a red light.
Erin Rae Smith of Kelowna was killed. Her passenger was seriously injured.
Both were emergency room nurses on shift at the Vernon hospital and were on their way to a coffee shop when their vehicle was struck.
Lori Victoria Vance, 37, is charged with six offenses including impaired driving and dangerous driving causing death.
Vance has a court date on March 19th.
