WINNIPEG — RCMP say a suspected drunk driver rammed into a police cruiser and fled from officers on Friday night in Ethelbert, Manitoba.
Officers noticed a vehicle driving slowly up and down the streets of Ethelbert late Friday night. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over it sped up, lost control and slid into a snow bank.
The suspect drove out of the snowbank and rammed into the front of the police car before turning down a groomed snowmobile trail. The vehicle eventually returned to the road and once again lost control and hit the ditch.
The suspect then left his vehicle and fled on foot but didn’t get far – he was arrested moments later.
In a news release Monday, RCMP say Bryan James Munro faces a number of charges including impaired driving, flight from police and refusing to provide a breath sample. He is set to appear in Dauphin provincial court Monday afternoon.
