TORONTO – A maintenance building at the Eagle’s Nest Golf Club in Maple went up in flames early Tuesday morning.
The fire began around 4 a.m. with the flames seen from several blocks away.
Crews managed to control the fire just before 6 a.m. but the turf maintenance building was entirely destroyed.
The Ministry of Environment has been called in to assess the scene as the facility contained fertilizers and chemicals.
Vaughan fire officials say there is minimal health risk posed by the fire. No injuries have been reported.
McNaughton Road remains closed north of Major Mackenzie and south of Steeles.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
