WATCH: Fire destroys Penticton home

UPDATE:  Fire investigators have now determined the blaze that destroyed a Penticton home this morning was accidental and electrical in nature.    A resident of the home and a neighbor both called 911 about the fire around 4:30 a.m.  When fire crews arrived at the home on Greenwood Drive, smoke and flames were coming from the back of the structure.

The fire appears to have started in a greenhouse and then spread to the house.  Fire officials say the age of the home posed challenges .  Small spaces within the walls made finding and putting out all the hot spots difficult.  It took about two hours to extinguish the fire.

The two occupants of the home and their dog managed to get out safely and are being assisted by Emergency Social Services.  They had no insurance.
