Hundreds of bike-lovers braved the cold for the 15-kilometre route, which started and ended at Parc Lafontaine and travelled along city streets in between.

Mayor Denis Coderre was also there and said acceptance of all types of transportation is vital to a metropolis.

“Through cycling, we are sending a strong message that there are several kinds of transport in Montreal and that we all have to live together.”
