Commuters
in York Region might want to leave a little extra time this morning as striking
transit workers will be on the picket lines.
As of
5:30 a.m. Tuesday, workers will be picketing at the Veolia southwest division
in Vaughan.

They are
causing some delays for buses getting in and out of the depot. Picketing is expected to delay YRT vehicles by several minutes
each, according to its news release.
Some people are
calling the picketers the “Frank Klees brigade” after an MPP commented he hadn’t
seen a lot of picketing during the strike.
Almost
600 transit workers have been on strike for more than a month.
About 40
per cent of service remains available between southwest division YRT and TTC
contracted routes in York Region during this labour dispute.
Picketers
may be heading to Finch Station later this morning.
