Police investigate two incidents involving shots fired in northeast Calgary

CALGARY- Police are investigating after reports shots were fired in two northeast neighbourhoods.

Just after 2 a.m. on Saturday, officers were called to a home on San Diego Place NE.

When they arrived they found shell casings and a truck was removed from the backyard. Police say it’s now being treated as evidence.

It appears another vehicle was also hit by several bullets.

There was no sign of a suspect or suspect vehicle at the scene.

Neighbours said they heard three gunshots followed by someone yelling and then a black truck sped out of the alleyway.

They said a family with three or four high school aged kids live in the home and that they moved in just a few months ago. They added they haven’t noticed any problems and that the family seemed very nice.

Police haven’t said if the shooting was targeted, or if it was related to another shooting that happened in Marlborough Park around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
