TORONTO – Toronto’s Gord Perks, city councillor for Ward 14 Parkdale-High Park, got his math wrong Friday and accidentally swore on live television before apologizing to the audience.

Perks was speaking to the media in a scrum about the numbers surrounding the city’s option to fill a budget gap.
But in a moment of confusion, Perks forgot he was also on live television and briefly swore, sparking an uproar of laughter.
“In broad terms, if we decided to not borrow the money, we would need a two-point-seven per cent tax increase this year…” at which point Perks caught himself. “Aww, [expletive] I did it wrong!”
