WINNIPEG – Global News weather specialist Mike Koncan let down some elementary school kids in Winnipeg Thursday – but he made up for it on Friday morning.
Koncan visited Oakenwald Elementary School Thursday for I Love to Read Month and told them “they were the boss of me,” he admits.
Then, when the first child requested 10 pushups, he ducked the job and moved on to reading a story.

“I totally ducked them. I ducked the question I got out of there and tried to change the subject.”
After a sleepless night thinking about how he let the kids down, Koncan made up for it on the Winnipeg Morning News Friday.
