REGINA – The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released offensive lineman Ben Heenan to allow him to pursue NFL opportunities.

Heenan was the Riders first overall selection in the 2012 Canadian draft after playing college football for the University of Saskatchewan.

Riders General manager Brendan Taman and Ben Heenan will speak to the media about the move on Tuesday.
