‘Power Rangers’ actor arrested in fatal sword attack

TORONTO — An actor who appeared in two Power Rangers TV series was arrested Saturday after allegedly stabbing his roommate with a sword.

Ricardo Medina Jr., 36, was being held on $1 million bail and could be facing a murder charge.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, officers responded to a 911 call from a home in the Palmdale community shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said Medina had an argument with Joshua Sutter, also 36, and then went to his bedroom with his girlfriend. Sutter allegedly forced the door open and was stabbed in the abdomen with a sword.

Medina has had small parts in several TV and film projects but is best known for playing the Red Lion Wild Force Ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force and later Deker on Power Rangers Samurai.

In an episode of the medical drama ER, he played a patient with an abscess on his buttocks and he appeared in the short-lived reality series Kept as one of a dozen men vying for model Jerry Hall.

More recently, Medina had been working as a dancer in The Hollywood Men strippers revue in Los Angeles.
