TORONTO — A pair of made-in-Toronto TV series are among nominees for the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards announced Wednesday morning.
Degrassi and Orphan Black earned nods in the Oustanding Drama Series category.
They are being challenged by eight other nominate shows, including Game of Thrones, Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder.
The GLAAD Media Awards “honour media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the LGBT community and the issues that affect their lives.”

Outstanding Comedy Series nominees include Glee, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Modern Family and Orange is the New Black.
Movie nominees include The Imitation Game, Pride and Tammy while Sam Smith and Mary Lambert are among those vying for music honours.

The GLAAD Media Awards will be handed out March 21 in Los Angeles and May 9 in New York City.
