Vehicle goes up in flames in Stonebridge neighbourhood garage

SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Fire Department was called to a smoking garage in the Stonebridge neighbourhood during the noon hour Saturday and found a flaming vehicle inside. Firefighters were initially called to a structure fire at 331 Baillie Cove at 12:48 p.m.

The first crew to arrive found heavy smoke coming from the attached garage of a home, which the occupants had evacuated.

A flaming car was found inside the garage and firefighters extinguished the vehicle. Crews then checked the attic and other areas to make sure the flames had not spread further.

No injuries were reported.

This fire has been deemed accidental in nature and damage is estimated at $20,000.
