HALIFAX – Police have charged a man with a third count of second-degree murder following a house fire outside Halifax on Jan. 7.

Investigators later determined that a third person, 74-year-old Ida Raye Ward, had also been murdered. Hennigar was charged Friday in her death.

He was also charged with assault with a weapon and flight from police after allegedly ramming a car into two police vehicles, which led to his arrest.

Hennigar has been in police custody since the initial charges were laid and is due to appear in court on Jan. 30.
