The phrase “Lest we forget” was not lost on Saskatonians after a record crowd attended the city’s Remembrance Day ceremony.
Official say over 8,600 people attended the ceremony at the Credit Union Centre on Friday morning to honour those who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving Canada.
The ceremony started with a parade of over 1,000 people that included veterans, active duty personal, reservists and other groups.
The crowd then fell silent for minutes as the clock struck the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.
Saskatoon’s Remembrance Day ceremony is the largest indoor ceremony in Canada.
