HALIFAX – The mercury hit 16.6 degrees in Halifax on Christmas day, as weather across the Maritime provinces felt more like spring than winter.
Temperature records were being shattered across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island yesterday as rain pounded the
region.
Environment Canada said Greenwood, Nova Scotia reached 17 degrees, breaking the previous record of 15 degrees. And in Moncton the temperature rose to 15.6 degrees.
Environment Canada said it rained 41.8 millimetres in Halifax.
