Police looking for suspect in attempted abduction in East Vancouver

Police are looking for a male suspect involved in an assault and attempted abduction in East Vancouver last night.

Just after 8 p.m. last night, a 22-year-old woman walking along Prince Albert Street near East 10th Avenue was approached from behind and grabbed. The male suspect wrapped his arms around the woman and dragged her to a dark green, older model van.

The man hit the woman in the head and face as he was trying to drag her inside the van. The woman was able to fight off her attacker and escape. She was treated in hospital for minor injuries but suffered significant emotional distress due to the attack.

Police searched the area but were unable to find the van or alleged attacker.

The male suspect has been described as Caucasian, in his 30s, 6′ tall, wearing a dark hoodie and gloves.
