VANCOUVER – Anti-oil pipeline demonstrators on Burnaby Mountain say they are not going anywhere.
Despite a court order telling the protesters to clear out, hundreds of people showed up on the mountain as time ticked down to the deadline Monday afternoon.
Some protesters are still there on Tuesday even though they were told to leave to allow Kinder Morgan’s survey crews to get to work.
However, the activists say they’ll stay for the long haul as they try to stop Kinder Morgan from moving ahead on a proposed expansion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline.
Instead of removing tents at the protest site, some people set up last night.

“I’m standing up for what I believe because if I don’t stand up for what I believe, and what we believe, then there won’t be anything to stand up for,” said protester David Cascagnette.
WATCH: Jeremy Hunka reports from Burnaby Mountain Monday night:
RCMP are still keeping an eye on the camp, with officers making patrols and making sure the protesters have enough warning about what is going to happen when police move in.
Not everyone is willing to get arrested however.
“Some people are probably going to get arrested,” said protester Graham McKellar. “What happens with us is still up in the air. A lot of people haven’t really made up their minds yet.”
