Saying farewell to Derek Taylor

I can’t forget the first day we all took our seats on the Morning News set back in Feb. 6, 2012. This was a new journey for our team.

It was the first time Global News in Winnipeg would be broadcasting a morning news program. There was a sense of excitement but it was also terrifying. Some of the technology we were using was new, our control room was a province away in Toronto and most of us were practically strangers to one another.

How quickly those feelings of uncertainty would change.

Now more than 2 1/2 years later, our original co-host is moving on to a new adventure. As we say good-bye to Derek Taylor, it feels like a fitting time to look back at the moments that have made this three-hour news program fun.
