Police investigate armoured truck heist in Rosemont

MONTREAL – Police are investigating after an armoured truck heist in the Montreal borough of Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie Wednesday night.

Around 8:30 p.m., two armed and masked suspects tied up two Garda employees just outside a Bank of Montreal on Masson street and 5th avenue.

The suspects, who reportedly did not have weapons, stole a sack of money from the truck before running away.

There were no injuries, but one of the Garda employees was treated for shock.

A crime scene perimeter has been established and investigators are questioning witnesses.

This robbery, which is the third after Longueuil and Brossard, has the security workers union is asking for trucks to have three guards instead of two.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Info-Crime line at 514-393-1133.
