Luc Ferrandez named Projet Montreal interim leader

MONTREAL – Plateau-Mont-Royal borough mayor Luc Ferrandez has been named the interim leader of Projet Montreal.

“These are big shoes to fill, but I accept this challenge with enthusiasm,” said Ferrandez, who is currently serving his second term as the borough’s mayor.

Richard Bergeron, the party’s leader, announced almost one year ago that he would be stepping down.

“I feel it is time to leave the reins to the next generation.”

“You can’t imagine how proud I am of the party that it has become,” said Bergeron, who was one of the people who founded Projet Montreal ten years ago.
