Body pulled out of river identified as missing man

SASKATOON – Human remains located Saturday afternoon in the South Saskatchewan River have been positively identified.

Ivan Hunchak, 58, was found in the water near the Saskatoon Rowing Club building.

Police have concluded that foul play was not a factor.

He was reported missing after he was last seen at a group home in the 800-block of Avenue P North on Oct. 23.

Hunchak was driving a motorized wheelchair and had several medical conditions.
