CALGARY – Police are once again asking for the public’s help to find someone who pointed a laser beam at two planes last month.

On September 18th, two pilots reported having laser beams pointed into their cockpits as they landed at the Calgary International Airport just after 9:00 p.m.

Investigators have received a number of tips and now believe the green laser came from the southeast side of the inner city.

“These lasers can actually cause severe eye damage,” says S/Sgt. Geoff Gawlinksi.

“The issue is pilots have to not fly for a certain period of time after they’ve been impacted by these and the other concern that we have is the general public may also unknowingly be hit by these and their vision could also be impaired.”
