Jake Gardiner expected to be in Maple Leafs’ lineup against Red Wings

TORONTO – Defenceman Jake Gardiner will return to the Toronto Maple Leafs’ lineup for tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings.

He was a healthy scratch for the past two games.

The 24-year-old blue-liner will replace veteran Stephane Robidas in the lineup.

Winger Joffrey Lupul, who missed Thursday’s practice with a lower-body injury, confirms he’ll play.

He also expects to be in Detroit on Saturday for the second game in the home-and-home set.

James Reimer will be in net tonight for the Leafs, his third straight start after winning his past two games.
