Agriculture minds meet in Lethbridge

It was a meeting of agriculture minds Thursday at the Lethbridge Lodge for the annual Current and Connected Conference.

A wide range of speakers delivered messages on topics such as agriculture, succession planning and retirement options.

“They want to keep family farm values on the farm, but when it comes to the business part they are looking to hire people, outsource, really do whatever they have to do to increase their profitability” he said.

For farm advisor Mark Wobick, it was critical information he can pass down to his clients.

“To be aware of what’s new and what’s coming down the pipe is extremely valuable for our client interactions,” Wobick said, “because that’s what are clients are looking for.”

The Canadian Association of Farm Advisors has over 400 members and puts on several events each year, with the goal of continually improving the quality of advice being given to farmers across Canada.
