Drug charges laid in Saskatoon apartment shooting investigation

SASKATOON – Three men are facing a number of charges as Saskatoon police continue to investigate a shooting at an apartment building on Monday.

Police were called to the 800-block of Kingsmere Boulevard around 6 p.m. for a report of a man firing a handgun.

Officers found a shot had entered a patio window of a unit.

A search warrant was executed and investigators found 1.5 kilograms of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

While investigators were searching the apartment, three men showed up, including the apartment resident.

They were found with approximately 38 grams of marijuana and $1,600 in cash.

A 24-year-old man is facing four charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

A 20-year-old man is facing possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

The third man, 19, is also facing a possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking along with two charges of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and proceeds of crime.

All three appeared in Saskatoon provincial court on Wednesday.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.
