SASKATOON – Saskatoon police had some help catching a man accused of robbing a jewelry store at Lawson Heights Mall on Tuesday.
Police were alerted to a robbery in progress just before noon.
Peoples Jewellers says a suspect broke a case with a hammer to get at items.
An employee screamed for help leading to a passing shopper to drop his groceries and chase the panicked suspect in the store.
The Good Samaritan held the suspect until authorities arrived.
The 26-year-old man is facing charges of theft over $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
No injuries were reported.
