A prominent Alberta businessman was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint from his home south-west of Ponoka Thursday morning.
Family has confirmed to Global News that the victim of the attempted abduction is Blair Vold, an owner of Vold, Jones and Vold Auction Co. Ltd., as well as a number of other businesses in Central Alberta.

RCMP say he was forced into a vehicle by the armed suspect, and then driven to a bank in Lacombe, Alberta. Vold was able to escape unharmed and contact police while the alleged abductor was inside the bank trying to take out money from his account.
RCMP are still searching for the suspect, who fled the scene in a newer silver four door Chevrolet pick up truck. He’s described as 6 feet tall, with a slender build, a white moustache and goatee.
