TORONTO — An assault charge against pop singer Justin Bieber was dropped Monday after Crown prosecutors said there was no reasonable chance of conviction.

Bieber was accused of assaulting a driver in late December.

The 20-year-old Ontario native, who was in Toronto this past weekend, did not appear in court.

Bieber turned himself in to Toronto Police in late January.

According to police, officers responded to a call in the early morning hours of Dec. 30, 2013 about an alleged assault in the Dundas Street West and University Avenue area.
