Police release sketch of suspect wanted in random sexual assault

CALGARY- Police have released a sketch of a man they’re looking for in connection with a frightening attack in northeast Calgary.

A 911 call was made from a convenience store in Coral Springs on Monday morning, after a woman was beaten and sexually assaulted while walking home.

It’s believed the woman was walking in an alleyway sometime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. in the Falconridge area, when she was approached by two men. She was hit, then sexually assaulted by at least one of the men.

Following the attack, the woman ran from the area wearing only a sweatshirt, and attempted to flag down two passing drivers on 68 St. between McKnight Blvd. and Falshire Dr. Neither of them stopped.

The first suspect is described as white, 5’1” and 190 pounds, and appears to be in his 40s or 50s. He has grey, short hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
