Langley RCMP say ‘significant amount of cash’ found in donated clothing

WATCH: A Value Village employee in Langley recently found wads of cash hidden in a donated item and now RCMP are trying to track down the owner of the money. Geoff Hastings reports.

VANCOUVER – Langley RCMP say they are looking for the owner of a “significant amount of cash.”

They are not saying how much cash was turned in to them, but say it was found in some clothing that had been donated to Value Village.

The money was found by an employee on Aug. 27 and turned in to police.

Police say the “amount of cash is significant enough that someone is very likely missing it.”

They are asking anyone that recently donated clothing to Value Village in Langley to contact RCMP at 604-532-3200.

Meanwhile, the North Vancouver RCMP say they have also found a “significant amount” of cash, turned in on Sept. 3 by a city employee.

They did not give many details, but commend the employee for their actions.
