Three people injured in semi-trailer crash near Okotoks

CALGARY – Three people were injured in a collision involving a semi-trailer near Okotoks on Thursday.

It happened on Highway 2 around 3:45 a.m.

RCMP say a northbound semi rolled blocking the northbound lanes.

Two northbound vehicles travelling toward the trailer attempted to avoid hitting it, but collided and ended up going into the ditch.

Two of the victims were rushed to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary with serious injuries, while the third remains in stable condition at a hospital in High River.

There were seven people involved in the collision in total.

RCMP closed northbound lanes of Highway 2 from 338th Avenue to Highway 552 for almost five hours while they investigated.
