VANCOUVER – Since July 1 there have been 102 passenger vehicles stolen in Abbotsford. Twenty-four of those have been Honda vehicles.
Police say this represents almost 24 per cent of all stolen passenger vehicles in the past two months, compared to just two Hondas stolen in the 64 days previous.
In 2013 there were 37 Hondas stolen, but this year there have already been 41.
Police want to remind Honda owners that they offer free anti-theft steering wheel lock devices to Abbotsford Registered Owners of Hondas in the pre-2004 model years. To obtain your complimentary anti-theft device go to the Community Policing Office at 105 – 34194 Marshall Road with your registration documents.
Anyone with information about auto theft should contact the APD at 604-859-5225, text us at 222973 (abbypd), or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
