TORONTO – A female driver suffered minor injuries after her car struck a fire hydrant in east-end Toronto late Tuesday night.
Police responded to the scene at Woodbine Avenue just south of Queen Street East around 11 p.m. to find a vehicle on its side in front of a resident’s lawn.

The water from the hydrant flooded the road for several hours but was cleared just before the morning rush hour.
Several other vehicles were also damaged in the collision.
There’s no word yet if any charges will be laid.
