TORONTO – An investigation is underway to determine why a car ended up submerged in water near Billy Bishop Island Airport early Tuesday morning.
Toronto police say they received a call around 7:59 a.m. about a car found in water in front of the west end runway of Toronto’s island airport.
Marine and fire crews attended the scene and no one was found inside the vehicle.
Police say initial reports indicate the empty car slid off a ramp and into the water.
The island airport fire department has taken over the investigation.
