Toronto police anticipate arrest in hit and run that killed 31-year-old man

TORONTO – Toronto Police say they’re expecting to soon make an arrest in a fatal hit and run this weekend.

They say investigators have recovered a van that they believe struck a pedestrian (on St. Clair Ave. near Weston Rd) early Saturday morning and then took off.

The 31-year old victim was initially pronounced dead at the scene, but was revived three times on his way to hospital before eventually succumbing to his injuries.

Police are urging the driver of the van to turn himself, or herself in.

Two other pedestrians, a 16-year old girl and a 63-year old man, were also struck be vehicles early Saturday morning.

The girl is in critical condition with severe head injuries, while the man is listed in serious condition.
