Woman injured in Saskatoon street robbery

SASKATOON – A woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after she was injured during a street robbery in Saskatoon early Thursday morning.

Police say the 52-year-old woman had left a restaurant in the 2200-block of 22nd Street West around 2 a.m. when she was approached by two men.

One man showed a knife and the woman was injured when she was knocked to the ground.

The suspects took her wallet and fled.

Members of the street gang unit were in the area and arrested one of the suspects.

The 27-year-old man is facing weapons and robbery charges. His name has not been released.

The second suspect remains at large.
